The               Princeton               Review               has               released               its               newest               list               of               the               nation's               top               party               schools,               and               the               question               comes               up               again;               do               you               want               to               even               see               your               school               on               this               list?

Every               year,               they               release               a               list               of               the               top               20               party               schools,               as               compiled               from               a               survey               that               the               Princeton               Review               gives               to               120,000               students               around               the               country.

Such               surveys               are               always               suspect               in               their               presentation,               and               the               results               of               such               are               always               up               for               dispute,               as               some               schools               find               themselves               falling               off               the               list,               and               other               schools               suddenly               appearing               on               the               list               after               years               of               not               being               on               it.

It's               interesting               to               a               certain               extent,               but               can               do               a               lot               to               hurt               the               image               of               a               school,               if               indeed,               they               do               happen               to               appear               on               the               list.

Some               students               probably               see               a               list               like               this,               and               see               it               as               the               best               list               that               their               school               could               be               on.

It's               almost               viewed               as               a               "badge               of               honor"               amongst               students               that               really               want               their               school               to               be               the               top               party               school               of               the               nation.

But               here               in               the               real               world,               such               a               list               actually               does               harm               to               the               reputation               of               a               college,               and               can               actually               hurt               the               level               of               respect               given               to               a               particular               institution.

Does               it               look               good               on               a               grant               application               if               your               host               University               is               the               top               party               school               in               the               nation?

Is               there               anything               about               being               on               this               list               that               can               help               your               institution               in               the               field?

It               could               be               argued               that               the               list               harms               a               lot               of               schools,               but               at               the               same               time,               there               could               also               be               schools               on               the               list               that               see               a               huge               increase               in               applications               to               attend,               simply               because               the               school               is               suddenly               seen               as               a               "cool"               place               to               attend               by               being               on               the               list.
Depending               on               which               camp               you               place               yourselves               in,               this               could               be               a               positive               list               or               a               negative               list,               but               one               thing               is               for               sure,               The               Princeton               Review               isn't               going               to               stop               releasing               the               lists,               and               those               who               seek               to               gain               knowledge               from               what               is               on               the               list               will               still               see               it               in               that               same               fashion.

Both               arguments               hold               validity,               and               a               double-edged               sword               presents               itself               to               institutions;               is               the               increased               enrollment               worth               the               negative               attributes               that               are               associated               with               being               a               party               school?
Here               is               The               Princeton               Reviews               list               of               2008's               top               party               schools:
